ATのExcelには、VDOのクルーズコントローラが付いていたりします。この使い方がわからないというe-mailをいただきました。幸い、うちのExcelのコントローラは正常に動作しています。また、この使い方は、Owners Handbookに記されています。
以下に、Owners Handbookの記載（英語）とコンピュータソフトを使った簡易翻訳（日本語）を載せておきます。ただし、安全に関わる部分ですので、実際のご使用にあたっては、Lotus社によるOwners Handbookを参照してください。以下の記述を参照した結果生じるいっさいの事態について、本Web Pageの作成者および運営者は、いかなる責任も負いません。
パーキングブレーキ前方のセンタートンネル上に付属されているクルーズ・コントロールは、あらかじめ選択された速度をアクセルを踏まずに、エンジン出力が可能な範囲で維持することができます。
ブレーキが操作される場合は常に、あるいは過度に速度が落ちる場合、クルーズ・コントロールは取り消されます。 さらに、安全装置は、約25mph(40kmh)以下でシステムが作動するのを防ぎます。 コントロールは、「D」(駆動)の中のギヤー・セレクター・レバーでのみ機能し、以下のように操作されます:

巡航速度は2つの方法のうちの1つでセットされます。
SET↓
巡航速度を低下させるためには、SET ↓を、自動車までに希望の新しい速度に低下するまで押し続け、リリースしてください。
MEMO
セットされた巡航速度はユニットのメモリの中で保持され、ブレーキをかけた後に、「MEMO」キーを押すことにより呼び出されます。 もし道速度が25mph以上(40 km/h)ならば、自動車は、プリセットされた速度へ燃費優先の効率的な方法で加速するでしょう。 エンジンのスイッチを切ることで、再プログラミングの準備ができているメモリは消去されます。
OFF
そのキーを押すことによりクルーズ・コントロールは動作を止めるが、メモリ中にセット速度を保持する。 このコマンドによるレスポンス時間は約2秒で、ブレーキにより止めるのは即時です。
クルーズ・コントロールは、渋滞中で、あるいは曲がりくねった道で、あるいは雪、氷あるいは他の要因で道の表面が滑りやすい場合など、安定した速度を保つのが不適当な状態で使用されてはなりません。
The cruise control fitted on the center tunnel ahead of the parking brake, enables a pre-selected road speed to be maintained (engine power permitting) without pressing the accelerator. The cruise control is cancelled whenever the brakes are operated, or if the vehicle slows unduly. In addition, a safety feature Prevents the system operating below about 25 mph (40kmh)
The control functions only with the gear selector Lever in 'D' (drive), and is operated as follows:
Set ↑
A cruising speed may be set in one of two ways. 1) Accelerate in the normal manner and press the 'set T' key when the desired cruising speed is reached, or 2) Ata speed above 25 mph (40 km/h), press and hold the 'set T' key and release the accelerator. The car will accelerate (in an economical manner) for as long as the key is depressed. Release when the desired speed is attained.
If greater speed is required temporarily. for example when passing another vehicle, use the accelerator pedal in the normal way and the cruise control will be overridden. The pre-selected speed will be resumed when the pedal is released.
Set ↓
To lower the cruising speed, depress the ,set 1, key until the car slows to the desired new speed and release.
MEMO
The set cruising speed is retained in the unit's memory and may be recalled after braking by pressing the 'memo' key. The car will accelerate in a fuel efficient manner to the preset speed provided that the road speed is above 25 mph (40 kmn1).
Switching Off the engine clears the memory ready for re-programming.
OFF
Pressing the off key de-activates cruise control but retains the set speed in the memory. The response time for this command is about two seconds, but shut off due to braking is immediate.
The cruise control should not be used in conditions where steady speed is inappropriate such as in heavy traffic or on twisting roads, or when snow, ice or other factors make the road surface slippery.
